American Wild West Themed Party: Have a Hillbilly Hoedown
Looking for a party idea that is entertaining, inclusive and memorable? The American Wild West is the perfect choice. Checked shirts and jeans are easy to find. Country music from a great band sets the scene. Add line dancing or barn dancing and you’ve got all the ingredients for a brilliant night.
Pull on your cowboy boots, put on your Stetson hat and checked shirt, get out your kerchiefs and string ties and get ready for a real down-home night of American Country fun.
Getting dressed up for a Wild West party is easy to do. Most people have denim skirts, jeans and checked shirts in the wardrobe. If not, a trip round the local charity shops will give rich pickings! Add broad-brimmed Stetson hats and Spanish-heeled cowboy boots and your cowgirls and cowboys will be ready to go!
Live “Bluegrass” from an American Country band sets the mood. The fiddle takes the lead, while slide guitar, bass and drums keep the tunes joggin’ along. Look forward to the best of Rockabilly and Western Swing mixed in with jigs and reels, played Nashville-style.
Add line-dancing or square dancing and in no time at all your guests will slapping their knees, throwing their cowboy hats in the air and whooping ‘n’ hollering with the best of them.
American square dancing is very similar to barn dancing. The band will bring a dance caller who will walk you through the dances, then call out the moves as the band plays the tune. It doesn’t matter is you’ve never done it before. The caller will show you what to do.
Line dancing is a great way to involve all your guests on the dancefloor. No previous experience is required. The caller will come down on the dance floor and show you all the steps and turns. The moves are easy to do and it is tremendous fun joining in.
An American Wild West theme is an excellent way to liven up a party. A live Country band will get the evening rocking, hoedown style. Add line dancing or barn dancing to the mix and you’ll soon have everyone stomping round the dancefloor in full hillbilly style. Yeee-Haaa!!
